No. Embalming is not required for a standard direct cremation. It may be recommended or included when a family chooses certain viewing or traditional service options, but families choosing direct cremation can generally proceed without embalming.

Our $1,875 Direct Cremation package includes the basic services of our funeral director and staff, transfer of your loved one to the funeral home, refrigeration, transportation to and from the crematory, and the cremation fee. Death certificate and permit fees are additional. An alternative cremation container provided by the mortuary may also be an additional charge.
